ATHELMONT

Est. 2026 · Athel Hill

The Clubhouse Collection, Spring 2027

An old country-club wardrobe, now with a court and training line cut from Hillcloth, a fabric of our own. Every piece washes at home and looks pressed the next morning. Nothing needs dry cleaning.

Palette

Eight colours taken from the clubhouse: blazer navy, tennis whites, the lawn, saddle leather and the crest's gold thread.

Hillcloth, our own fabric

Activewear usually looks like activewear. Hillcloth is built to look like clubhouse cloth and work like training gear. It is made for Athelmont alone.

Hillcloth

Two fabrics knitted as one. A matte merino face that reads as heritage cloth from across a court, and a technical back that moves sweat and dries fast.

  • Outer faceMerino wrapped around a recycled-nylon core. The wool gives the dry, matte look and keeps odour down without a chemical finish. The nylon core makes it strong enough for the machine.
  • Inner backRecycled-polyester grid channels that pull sweat off the skin and spread it to dry. The grid holds air, so it is warm when you stop and cool when you move.
  • StretchElastane in both faces for four-way stretch that springs back. Knees and seats do not bag after a season.
  • SignatureThe line of Athel Hill knitted into the inner back as a tonal jacquard. Only the wearer sees it, and a copy without it is easy to spot.
  • CareMachine wash 30°C · tumble dry low · no ironing · do not dry clean.

The Athelmont signatures

Five details, all drawn from Athel Hill, that let someone recognise the clothes with no logo in sight. Every piece carries at least two of them.

01 · Trim

The Athel Stripe

Navy 3 mm · claret 2 mm · navy 3 mm · 8 mm in all

Our tipping, always in this order and these widths. At 8 mm it stays under the 1 cm limit for colour on white at the strictest grass-court clubs, so it can go on every Court White piece.

Polo collars and cuffs · tee neck rib · skort and short hems · inside waistbands

02 · Silhouette

The Hill Hem

Side rises 4 cm in one soft curve · back 3 cm longer than front

The hem of every top rises at the side seam like the shoulder of a hill. Untucked, it reads as Athelmont from across a court. Tucked, the longer back stays in through a serve.

Polos · crew · sun hoodie · half-zip · sleeveless polo

03 · Texture

Hill Check

Self-colour jacquard · 8 mm grid · crosslines rise and fall 2 mm over 40 mm

A check knitted into Hillcloth in the garment's own colour. The cross lines roll like hills. From a distance the cloth looks plain; at a handshake it is clearly ours.

Court Polo · Hillcloth Half-Zip · Court Zip Jacket · Rally Crew

04 · Inside

The Contour

Contour lines of one hill · cream on navy, navy on cream

A map of Athel Hill printed where only the wearer looks: jacket linings, pocket bags, skort liners, inner waistbands. Open the jacket and the hill is there.

Warm-up and quilted linings · all pocket bags · liners · tissue and boxes

05 · Finish

The Stripe Tab

7 mm grosgrain loop in the Athel Stripe · 25 mm long

A hanging loop at the inside back neck of every top and inside the back waistband of every bottom. It holds the garment on a locker hook and shows the stripe when you hang it up.

Every piece in the collection

How they combine

Two at a minimum

Every top has the Stripe Tab and the Hill Hem. Every Hillcloth piece adds Hill Check. Every lined or pocketed piece adds the Contour. Court pieces add the Athel Stripe at the collar or hem.

White polo collar with navy-claret-navy tipping and a striped hanging tab
Athel Stripe tipping and the Stripe Tab
Navy polo side hem rising in a soft curve, with a faint tonal rolling check in the knit
The Hill Hem, in Hill Check Hillcloth

Two rules that keep this quiet. Nothing here is a logo, and none of it is loud: the stripe stays under a centimetre, the check is self-colour, and the contour lives inside. The only mark on the outside is still the small tonal A.

On court

What players actually wear in each racket sport, and the rules we drew from it for the Court line.

SportWhat players wearHouse rules to passWhat we designed
TennisGrass, clay, hardPolos and crew tees, 7 in shorts, skirts and dresses. Balls carried in a pocket or under the skirt. Many clubs want tops 90% white and white socks. On the course

Golf is where club dress codes are strictest. We read the published rules of private clubs and cut the Golf line to pass them, then made it good enough for the clubhouse after.

What clubs askTypical ruleHow we cut it
Men's shortsBermuda length, about 1 in above the kneeCourse Short with a 9 in inseam, so it lands at the rule on most heights
Women's skirts and skortsNo shorter than mid-thigh, or no more than 4 in above the kneeFairway Skort at 18 in, just above the knee, liner shorts with pockets
ShirtsMen: collared and tucked in. Women: a collar or sleevesEvery golf top has a collar or sleeve, and the Hill Hem's longer back stays tucked through the swing
FabricsNo denim on the courseHillcloth Twill and Club Merino only
PocketsNo cargo pocketsPockets kept flat and hidden: a zipped coin pocket for a ball marker, a zipped back pocket for a phone
LayersLeggings allowed under a skirt or skort at some clubsThe Club Legging pairs under the Fairway Skort for cold mornings

Rules vary club to club; these are the common ones in published private-club dress codes. The gripper, marker pocket and quiet-fabric choices are our design decisions, not research findings.

Performance, sport by sport

The Pro tier: complete outfits for match days, long runs and hard sessions. Same club look, built for heat, sweat, wind and water.

Pro knitHillcloth Pro30% merino · 58% recycled nylon · 12% elastane · 130 g/m²Knitted in zones: dense where you need cover, open mesh across the upper back and underarms where heat builds. Seams bonded flat, vents laser-cut. Merino stays on the face so it still looks like cloth, not gym kit.
Pro shellHillcloth ShellRecycled nylon ripstop · PFAS-free water repellent · 75 g/m²A weatherproof outer for golf, sailing and running in wind and light rain. Packs into its own pocket.
Pro swimClub SwimRecycled PBT polyester · chlorine resistant · UPF 50+ targetPBT holds its shape and colour in chlorinated pools far longer than standard swim stretch. Lined front, Athel Stripe at the neckline or hem.

Performance figures (UPF, water repellency, chlorine resistance, drying speed) are targets to prove in lab tests before they go on any label. Every Pro piece has a size chart: tap "Size chart" under it, or pick it from the Pro group in Measurements.

Easy-care fabrics

Five house fabrics carry the line, each chosen because it survives home washing. Compositions are proposals to confirm with a mill.

Polos · dress

Athel Piqué

60% long-staple cotton (combed, compact-spun) · 37% recycled polyester · 3% elastane · 210 g/m² · pre-shrunk

The cotton face looks like a classic tennis polo. Polyester in the yarn keeps the collar flat and the shape true after washing.

Machine wash 30°C · tumble dry low · no ironing · do not dry clean

Shirt

Easy-care Oxford

60% long-staple cotton · 37% recycled polyester · 3% elastane · 125 g/m² · no resin finish

Gets its smoothness from the polyester in the yarn rather than a chemical non-iron coating, which wears off after a season of washes.

Machine wash 30°C · tumble dry low, hang straight away · no ironing · do not dry clean

Trousers · skort

Commuter Twill

64% recycled polyester · 33% wool · 3% elastane · 250 g/m² · crease recovery required

Reads as a pressed wool trouser. The polyester holds the crease and lets creases from sitting drop out on a hanger.

Machine wash 30°C gentle · line dry · cool iron only if wanted · do not dry clean

Knitwear

Club Merino

100% extra-fine merino · 18.5 micron · 2/48 Nm tightly spun 2-ply · shrink-resist treated · machine-wash approval targeted

Warm in an air-conditioned office, cool outdoors, and does not hold odour, so it needs washing less often.

Machine wash wool cycle 30°C · dry flat · no tumble dry · do not dry clean

Blazers

Travel Ponte

58% recycled polyester · 36% lyocell · 6% elastane · double knit 320 g/m²

Holds a blazer's shape, feels like a sweatshirt and packs flat. Lyocell drapes and lets creases fall out overnight. It replaces the viscose ponte, which shrinks in the wash.

Machine wash 30°C gentle · line dry on a hanger · do not dry clean

These are design targets. A mill or test lab has to confirm them before any care label claims them.

The pieces

Prices are proposed retail.

Three ways to wear it

The same pieces cover a business-casual Monday, a Saturday at the club and a travel day.

Measurements

Finished garment measurements for every size, graded from the sample size (shaded). Half measurements are taken flat, side to side.

Men's body chart

Women's body chart

Body charts are Athelmont working charts for the 40–59 customer, regraded on 8 November 2026 to CDC NHANES August 2021–August 2023 medians and graded in ASTM steps. Trousers and shorts run 32–46 in waist sizes. Garment measurements are working targets from those charts plus ease; they will move at the fit sample, tested on real size L bodies.
