The Reserve

Ten pieces, cut to your measurements, numbered, traceable to the farm, and repaired for life. Made for the people who already buy the best and want to buy less of it.

What the future wears

Six shifts we expect in the wardrobes of affluent buyers by the end of the decade, drawn from the same research and from our own body data.

What makes it Reserve

Six promises

What you get with every Reserve piece.

i

Cut for your body

Eight measurements taken at a fitting, or from a phone scan, laid onto our own blocks. Free re-cut within the first year if anything is wrong.

ii

Numbered, never restocked

No more than 100 of any piece in any colour each season. Your number is woven into the hill tape inside the neck.

iii

Proven from farm to you

A tag sewn into the care label opens the garment's record: the farm, the mill, the maker, the date it was finished, and every repair since.

iv

Kept for life

Free repairs for as long as you own it, a yearly refresh (re-press, de-pill, re-proof), and buy-back credit toward your next Reserve piece.

v

Only natural fibre on the outside

Single-farm superfine merino, wool-cashmere, extra-long-staple cotton. Even the vest is filled with wool wadding, not polyester.

vi

Quiet

No logo outside. You recognise it by the Athel Stripe, the Hill Hem and the Contour lining, and by how it hangs.

How a Reserve piece is made

Six weeks, one person

  1. A fitting at a member club or at home, or a guided phone scan. Eight measurements, plus how you like it to sit.
  2. Your measurements are laid onto our blocks, regraded from the latest US body data. You approve a fit sketch.
  3. Cloth is cut from a numbered bolt traced to its farm. One maker finishes the piece by hand.
  4. The hill tape is woven with your number; the passport is written.
  5. A second fitting, adjusted on the spot. Free re-cut for twelve months.
  6. Every year, a refresh. Every repair, logged in the passport.

Inside the neck

The hill, and your number

The same hill line that runs inside every Athelmont piece, woven in cream on Reserve, with your piece's number beside it. Next to it, the care label carries the tag that opens the passport.

The collection

Ten pieces

Prices are proposed. The line under each piece shows what it costs per wear on a stated assumption, because value you can see is why people pay.

Reserve Weather Coat

Rain on wool, not on plastic

A dense wool face over a PFAS-free membrane: it sheds a shower, breathes on a warm day and still looks like a good coat. The piece we expect the next decade's weather to make essential.
